Wound Academy Course 2: Lower Extremity and Pressure Ulcers with Interactive Patient Studies
Course 2 is presented in three modules and three interactive patient studies. Module content includes 1) the etiology, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of lower extremity ulcers, 2) factors that contribute to the development and prevention of pressure ulcers, and 3) prevention and management of diabetic foot ulcers. Interactive patient studies are provided to test and increase your knowledge of advanced wound healing. The patient studies are fictional but deal with common wound care problems (leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, and diabetic wound ulcers). Patient study goals are to assess, diagnose and treat the fictional patients in the most appropriate way. Teaching methods in this course include readings, illustrations, interactive exercises, self-assessment quizzes, and interactive patient studies.
