Designed For: For certified nurse midwives, licensed midwives, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, and other interested health care professionals.

This conference provides an annual update on clinical issues in midwifery care. Teaching methods include lecture, discussion, and case study analysis.

    Topics this year include:
  • An update on obstetrical ultrasound interpretation
  • A midwife’s role in disaster or humanitarian emergency situations
  • Approaches to diagnosing and managing multiple sclerosis during the child bearing year
  • Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) therapies for common postpartum problems
  • Controversies in managing pre-labor rupture of membranes at term
  • Promoting infant mental health “right from the start”
  • Precepting students of midwifery and other health care professions
