Conference Description

The course is designed as a pharmacology update at the advanced practice level for nurse practitioners who are delivering primary health care. Presentations focus on current recommendations and controversies regarding drug therapy for common outpatient problems and include appropriate pharmacotherapeutic principles for psychiatric and neurologic health problems. Patients’ learning needs in relation to drug therapy are incorporated as appropriate. Teaching methods include lecture, discussion and case analysis.

  • Pros and Cons of Generic Substitution of Antiepileptic Drugs
  • Using Evidence When Making Decisions to Prescribe or Discontinue Benzodiazepines and Other Controlled Substances

  • Pharmacological Management of Behavior Disorders in Traumatic Brain Injuries
  • Nutraceuticals in Neuropsychopharmacology
